Sony has acquired the rights to adapt the book and has Scott Rudin signed up as a producer. Now ,according to The Hollywood Reporter, Paul is tipped to be signing on as director.

The book was written by Morten Storm, Paul Cruickshank and Tim Lister and has not even hit shelves yet, as it is due to be released on September 2.

It tells the true story of Morten's life in a London prison and then his conversion to Islam, which saw him move to Yemen in 2001 to study the Quran, where he worked with extremists.

However, Morten realised how dangerous the extremists were and was signed up by the CIA as a double agent, also working with the British and Danish intelligence.

Paul has worked on many spy thrillers before, including The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum and Green Zone. He most recently directed Captain Phillips, which went on to win six Academy Awards at this year's Oscars.
