Saoirse Ronan is clearly a bona fide star, able to hold her own alongside Hollywood's heavyweights.

The actress looked completely at home beside Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and Willem Dafoe at a high-profile film festival premiere in Berlin.

The A-listers -- all stars in The Grand Budapest Hotel -- kicked off the 64th Berlinale International Film Festival last night.

The movie, tells the story of Gustave H, played by Ralph Fiennes, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars.

The tale involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting; a raging battle for an enormous family fortune; and a desperate chase on motorcycles, trains, sleds, and skis.

Reuniting with her on-screen peers in Germany, heavyweights Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe and Edward Norton, Ronan showed that she is just as much a bankable, respected artist on the silver screen.

Saoirse (19) looked completely at ease as she rubbed shoulders with some of the legendary figures of the industry to help promote their new film, wearing an elegant baby blue blouse with tailored trousers and black brogues,

And the actress was clearly keen to emphasise her Irish roots and wore a floor length emerald green dress for the red carpet event.

The Grand Budapest Hotel, set in the 1920s, is one of 20 competition entries, 18 of which are world premieres, at this year's Berlinale International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, IFTA winning Ronan is looking at a very busy few months ahead.

She is due to fly out of Germany back to the US in the coming days, where the Oscar-nominated star will begin rehearsals for a new movie.

The Carlow native is then scheduled to jet back to Ireland in May to begin production on Brooklyn with Domhnall Gleeson, the film adaptation of award-winning Colm Toibin's novel. It will be shot in Wexford over several weeks.
