Glee given big screen go-ahead
Glee is set to receive the big-screen treatment, and in glorious 3D style.
A feature film based on the upcoming Glee Live! In Concert North American tour, featuring the cast of the Golden Globe-winning TV show including Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Cory Monteith, is in the works, reports Variety.
Directed by Fame's Kevin Tancharoen, Glee Live! 3D! will show performances from the cast singing covers of Britney Spears' I'm A Slave 4 U, P!nk's Raise Your Glass, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, and original songs like Loser Like Me, Hell To The No! and Get It Right, as well as behind-the-scenes moments.
The concert film is expected to be released in the US for a two-week engagement starting August 12, so Gleeks who were unable to get their hands on the tickets can watch the concert, but it is not known if it will be released in the UK.
The tour starts in Las Vegas on May 21, and finishes on June 18 in New York, before moving on to the UK for three dates at London's O2 Arena and two gigs at Manchester's MEN Arena.
