Gemma - from Bond Girl to vampire

Gemma Arterton has switched from Bond Girl to blood-sucking vampire in her latest film, Byzantium, which has received its UK premiere.
The actress plays 200-year-old vampire Clara who works in strip clubs at a run-down holiday resort to support her vampire daughter Eleanor - until their secret gets out.
Arterton attended the screening in Glasgow with co-star Saorise Ronan and director of the gothic thriller, Neil Jordan.
It is familiar territory for Jordan, who was behind the 1994 hit Interview with a Vampire starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
Almost 20 years on, the filmmaker said it was not a conscious decision to make another vampire film. Speaking ahead of the premiere, he said: "When I read the script there were so many elements in it that were familiar to me. Not only the vampire thing, but it was about two women on the run, and it was about somebody trying to tell their story and being prevented from doing that.
"That was one of the real attractions to me - that she'd been trying to tell this story for 200 years. I had no thought of making another vampire film at all."
Jordan, whose films include The Crying Game and Michael Collins, said he could not explain the current popularity of vampire books and movies such as the Twilight saga.
He said: "I have no idea why they have become ubiquitous, and why they have become so sweet and cuddly and that sort of stuff. It's hard to explain popular culture. What attracted me to this movie, really, was the writing."
Arterton, 27, has previously starred alongside Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace.
Ronan, 18, appeared with Keira Knightly in Atonement.
