The 28-year-old - who plays Ashton Kutcher's fiancee in the movie, which was directed by Pretty Woman's Garry Marshall - confessed she was freezing as she jokingly huddled inside Kutcher's overcoat while they posed for pictures on the red carpet.

After donning a black overcoat with sparkling gem epaulettes, Alba admitted she was a "romantic" at heart and revealed: "The best Valentine's Day I have ever had is every Valentine's Day I've spent with my husband (producer Cash Warren)."

Alba attended the Los Angeles premiere earlier this week with Warren, with whom she has a 19-month-old daughter, Honor.

Kutcher, 32 - who plays a romantic florist in the movie - was joined by wife, Demi Moore, 47, on the red carpet.

He denied hating Valentine's Day, as he has said in previous interviews, claiming: "I'm a fan of Valentine's Day. One of my best friends is a florist so I've been trying to play a florist for a while, because I was excited to highlight his skills. The character is so romantic - he's the messenger of love."

Director Marshall also attended the premiere with his wife, Barbara, along with stars of the movie Topher Grace, Hector Elizondo and Emma Roberts.

Valentine's Day, which also stars Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel and Jamie Fox, is released in cinemas on Friday.
