Foster 'pursued for RIPD role'
Jodie Foster could soon be set for a starring role in RIPD.
Universal Pictures is said to be highly interested in offering the Oscar-winning actress the role of Proctor in the comic book adaptation, which would see her reuniting with Flightplan director Robert Schwentke, reported the Bloody Disgusting entertainment blog.
Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges are already on board for the leads, and Jodie's character has been hinted as being their boss.
RIPD focuses on a murdered cop (Ryan) who joins the titular department (Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department) of deceased detectives, where he decides to team with an old-timer (Jeff) to battle strange creatures and solve his own death.
Jodie - who last starred and directed The Beaver - has been filming Roman Polanski's Carnage and is due to start work on Neill Blomkamp's Elysium shortly.
