First Look: Naomi Watts' transformation into Princess Diana
The first posters and stills of the upcoming biopic have been released.
As excitement builds over the release Diana, Watts's transition into the much-loved royal seemed to be complete.
The actress bears more than a passing resemblance to the Princess of Wales as she shows off her blonde blow dried crop hair 'do on the promotional image, just as Diana used to style hers.
She also wears regal blue in a glamorous dress and her ears and neck dripping with jewels.
Watts even wears a ring in the poster, which seems to mimic the ring Prince William gave to the Duchess of Cambridge when he proposed to her in memory of his late mother.
Its focus will be the final two years of the Princess’s life, when she had separated from Charles and had been in relationships with Hasnat Khan and Dodi Fayed.
Diana and Fayed were both killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, whose other credits include Downfall, the film will be the first to cover the death in detail.
The role is a far cry from the one she is currently playing in the upcoming movie St. Vincent De Van Nuys. The mother-of-two has taken on the challenging part of a pregnant Russian prostitute in the comedy drama alongside Bill Murray.
