Filming continues on Expendables 2
The Expendables 2 is set to continue filming, despite the death of a stuntman on the Bulgarian set.
The explosion, which happened last Thursday while the movie's second unit stunt team was filming a scene on reservoir Ognyanovo outside the capital Sofia, killed one stuntman - now named as Kun Lieu - and "seriously injured" another, called Nuo Sun.
The film's main unit, led by director Simon West and star-producer Sylvester Stallone, are thought to have been filming in the mountain resort village of Bansko when the accident happened, and there are no delays to their filming schedule.
"Main unit production has not been interrupted and continues as scheduled. Only second unit filming has been temporarily suspended and will resume shortly," a spokesperson for Nu Image/Millennium Films told Deadline.
"The filmmakers continue to work with authorities investigating this accident."
They added that Jet Li and Sylvester Stallone's stunt doubles were not caught up in the incident.
"Regrettably, Bulgarian language newspapers have incorrectly reported that stunt doubles for Jet Li and Sylvester Stallone were involved in the accident. This is absolutely false and inaccurate," they continued.
"At the time of the accident neither Li's or Stallone's stuntmen were on or near the second unit set, nor were any of the film's main actors, director Simon West or any of the main unit crew."
The Expendables sequel, set for release in August 2012, stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Liam Hemsworth, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
