Ferrell flooded with cameo offers
Will Ferrell has revealed people are begging him to cameo in Anchorman 2.
The Elf star is returning as moustachioed 70s newsreader Ron Burgundy in a sequel to the 2004 hit comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and revealed he has been flooded with offers from stars who want to join him.
Will said: "We are getting a lot of people just emailing and calling and saying 'I'll do anything in the movie' which is so flattering and it's so fun to have this response to a sequel."
But the 44-year-old comedian wouldn't give away the possible celebrity cameos in the top secret movie, joking he may turn them down.
He joked: "I would hate to say because we don't know if we're going to use them or not..."
Will confirmed that Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Steve Carell would all return as Ron's news team in the sequel.
He recently starred in a teaser trailer, released on line, with Paul, David and Steve in which Ron promised fans to, "get ready to ride the Palomino stallion".
Will revealed: "We don't start filming until next year, so that was just a little hors d'oeuvre. We thought we'd shoot a little something for fun and get all the guys together.
"We're literally writing the script just now. We'll start filming in February, and we're looking forward to it, we've got the whole cast back and it's going to be great fun."
The film will be set in the late 70s, when newsrooms started to diversify and round-the-clock coverage took off.
