Michael Fassbender, Hugo Weaving and Adam Driver are the latest stars to be linked to Star Wars: Episode VII.

Director JJ Abrams had a meeting with Oscar-winning actor Michael in December to discuss a possible role in the upcoming movie, and is also said to be considering a part for Girls star Adam, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.

Meanwhile, there are claims that Australian actor Hugo has already met with the filmmaker to discuss playing an Imperial commander in the seventh instalment.

Sources have revealed that Breaking Bad actor Jesse Plemons is set to meet with JJ, to chat about Episode VII and possibly the rest of the trilogy.

Other stars who have been rumoured for roles in the highly anticipated film include Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael B Jordan, Jack O'Connell, Alex Pettyfer and Saoirse Ronan.

It has also been hinted that since JJ and Lawrence Kasdan took over writing duties from Michael Arndt the film will focus on the franchise's original trio of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), rather than their children as previously thought.

Mark, Harrison and Carrie are tipped to reprise their roles in Star Wars: Episode VII, which will be released in December 18, 2015.
