Evans: Raid 3 is prequel to Raid 2

The Raid filmmaker Gareth Evans has revealed he wants to take a break before starting the third movie in the franchise.
The Welsh director, who wrote and took the reins on the first two instalments, admitted he already has an idea for the final instalment of the action-packed martial arts trilogy but would like to do something different first.
"Hopefully in about two or three years, we will have that ready. I don't want to do it straight away, I want to take a break from martial arts for a little bit and try something else," he said.
The first film, which stars Indonesian silat star Iko Uwais as undercover cop Rama, was a cult hit when it was released in 2012, with the sequel, which sees the actor reprising his role, in cinemas now.
Gareth - who wrote, edited and directed the Raid films - said The Raid 3 will be a prequel to the second film.
"The third one will be slightly different from the first two - very different actually. The idea is that part two started one or two hours after The Raid finished so it's a continuation of the story," he explained.
"The Raid 3 will start one or two hours before The Raid 2 finishes, so we go back in time a little bit and branch off. So it'll be something different but interesting."
