Eva Mendes is nervous about being the boss
Eva Mendes is looking forward to her future as a director but not to ordering people around.
Eva Mendes lit up Leicester Square in London at the premiere of the Hollywood film The Other Guys, but the actress appears to see her future behind the camera.
"I just directed my first short film, with Christina Ricci, and I can't tell you the joy I have found through directing," said Mendes, 36.
"I don't know if I'm ready to do a feature, but that is something that excites me, for sure."
The actress, who has starred in such films as Hitch and We Own the Night, admitted that her character may not, though, be suited to barking out orders.
"I don't like bossing people around," she said, "but I'm into creating a world and a vision of your own; it's pretty amazing."
She joked that appearing opposite the comic actor Will Ferrell in The Other Guys had been testing. "At one point I had to bring in my attorneys," she said. "I had a restraining order against Will for the first month of shooting and then things got a little bit better."
