It was the funniest highlight of this year’s Academy Awards and the pizza delivery man who fed plenty of hungry A-listers received a $1000 tip for his hard work.
Oscars host Ellen Degeneres decided to order pizza half way through the ceremony and tricked pizza parlour worker Edgar Martiroysan into thinking he was delivering backstage.
He was brought out to an audience of Hollywood’s acting royalty and served out cheesy pizza to the likes of Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt and Jared Leto, who had just won an Oscar moments before.
Ellen presented the co-owner of Big Mama's & Papa's Pizzeria with the huge tip collected from the stars on her post-Oscars show yesterday.
The bubbly host circled the audience to collect money, using performer Pharell’s famous brown hat, and celebrities like Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, John Travolta through money in for a tip.
Ellen received criticism for not giving the money to the delivery man and invited him on the show to present him with the cash, plus an extra few hundred dollars.
‘‘I ended up getting about $600 and here's a $1000,’’ she said as she handed it to the thrilled pizza delivery man.

He flashed a huge smile as he held up his extraordinary tip from the Oscar attendees and the audience erupted into cheers.
The Oscar nominees and presenters sitting near the stage jumped at the chance for some tasty pizza and award-winner Brad Pitt handed out some paper plates to his fellow stars.
Edgar left his red uniform behind and dressed more dapper for his appearance on Ellen’s show with a crisp white shirt and smart navy blazer.
The pizza parlor ended up getting a lot of free publicity as advertising on the show reportedly costs at least $1.8m.

It is believed the publicity coup is worth about $10million to the pizza chain.
Edgar gushed about meeting his celebrity crush Julia Roberts during his most unusual pizza delivery.
‘‘She was my woman in dreams. I was always watching her movies back in Moscow, like Pretty Woman,’’ he said on Ellen’s show.
‘‘So it was something crazy to me to give her pizza,’’ he added.
Ellen told the acting stars to dig in as Edgar passed out slices in front of millions of TV viewers.
It sparked huge reaction on Twitter with viewers loving the impromptu snacking session.
When host Ellen asked the star-studded crowd who wanted a slice of pizza, plenty of hands shot up.
Even the female stars munched away despite the risk of ruining their expensive couture gowns.
