Elba's Mandela seen in film trailer

Idris Elba's portrayal of South African leader Nelson Mandela has been unveiled for the first time,
In the trailer for Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, which premiered in the US on the former President's 95th birthday on July 18, the suited Luther star is seen giving a speech to a crowd, saying: "My name is Mandela."
The 40-year-old is later seen meeting wife Winnie, played by Naomie Harris, and telling her: "You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen."
The Weinstein Co previewed parts of the film for the United Nations General Assembly as part of the Nelson Mandela International Day celebrations for special guests including former US President Bill Clinton, Reverend Jesse Jackson, singer and civil rights icon Harry Belafonte, UN General Assembly president John William Ashe and Ban ki-moon, secretary-general of the UN.
Justin Chadwick's upcoming biopic, based on Mandela's 1994 autobiography Long Walk To Freedom, will be released in cinemas in January 2014.
