Aaron Eckhart has revealed that he prepared for his role as a grieving parent in the drama Rabbit Hole by going to a grief group.
The actor, who plays opposite Nicole Kidman, also watched video blogs of people who had suffered a loss.
Aaron said that he can't even pretend to come close to the feeling of somebody who has lost a child as his character experiences in the film. He said he and Nicole tried to show how a couple can be intimate yet unable to communicate with each other at that point in their relationship.
Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, Rabbit Hole looks at how each of the parents copes with the loss of their four-year-old son and what impact it has on them as a couple.
The movie was presented this week at the Rome Film Festival.
