Aaron Eckhart is to play an ex-CIA agent in The Expatriate.
The Dark Knight actor, who has been widely praised for his performance in Rabbit Hole with Nicole Kidman, will portray a former agent who aims to make a fresh start with his estranged 15-year-old daughter but has to go on the run after discovering they are being targeted for murder.
It will be directed by Philipp Stolzl but the actress expected to play Aaron's on-screen teenage daughter has not been cast yet, said Deadline.
Production will start early in 2011 in Belgium and Montreal.
Aaron, who played Harvey Dent/Two-Face in The Dark Knight, has been filming Battle: Los Angeles, which also stars Michelle Rodriguez and singer Ne-Yo, can next be seen in The Rum Diary alongside Johnny Depp.
