Douglas warned co-stars not to date
Michael Douglas has revealed he warned his Wall Street 2 co-stars Carey Mulligan and Shia LaBeouf against becoming an item.
The young British actress plays Gordan Gekko's daughter in the highly anticipated sequel, while the Transformers star plays her boyfriend - and while filming they began dating in real life.
Michael, who plays Gekko, told The Sun: "I warned them 'Don't ever do that', but they are an item and they are having a great time."
The 65-year-old actor also revealed that unlike Gekko, he no longer puts his career first, devoting time to wife Catherine Zeta Jones and their children Dylan, nine and six-year-old Cerys.
He said: "I'm no longer obsessed about work and I've been enjoying time with my family. I love not having to worry now, but since I married Catherine it's been tough to get me out of the house.
"I'm not consumed with my career, so I'm a better dad the second time around. Also I enjoy it more.
"But I'm not ready to call it quits yet. At this point I'm looking for challenges, different sorts of things - otherwise I stay at home with my lovely wife and children."
Despite the 25-year age gap between Michael and wife Catherine, they have plenty in common.
He revealed: "Catherine and I have a lot of things we do together. She plays golf pretty darn well. She is a news junkie like me. We share a sense of humour and love travelling. We share the same business so we know the attention. And we share the same September 25 birthday."
