Robert De Niro and Ray Liotta are to help mark the 20th anniversary of Goodfellas at Spike TV's fourth annual Guy's Choice awards.
The pair have been brought together to celebrate the anniversary of the mob classic, which event producer Casey Anderson said was considered a touchstone for Spike's target audience of 18 to 34-year-old men.
Patterson called Goodfellas "a classic story, shot in a way that makes it really, really sexy".
Organisers also hope Joe Pesci will make an appearance, but filmmaker Martin Scorsese is unable to attend as he is working in Europe.
The event is being taped in California on Saturday and will be televised in the US on June 20.
