De Niro and Cooper's Honeymoon
Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper are in talks to star in much-hyped drama Honeymoon With Harry.
Jonathan Demme is also interested in directing the script - written by Million Dollar Baby's Paul Haggis - about a womanising party animal, who decides to change when he meets the love of his life, but his disapproving future father-in-law is determined to break them up, Deadline Hollywood reports.
The Hangover's Bradley would of course play the womaniser and Meet The Fockers' De Niro the disapproving father-in-law.
The film sees the couple get engaged against the imposing father's wishes, only for the woman to die tragically just before the wedding.
The broken-hearted groom goes on honeymoon to drink himself to death and meets the father, who has come to sprinkle his daughter's ashes on her favourite beach.
New Line bought the rights to the film in 2004 and Haggis adapted the screenplay from an unpublished novel by Bart Baker.
The Crash director had been attached to direct at one point, with Vince Vaughn and Jack Nicholson in talks to star, but since the project has been continually delayed it has often featured in "best unmade" film lists.
