Day-Lewis in hunt for Golden Globe
Irish actor Daniel Day-Lewis has earned a Golden Globe nomination for his starring role in Steven Spielberg's US civil war epic, 'Lincoln'.
Day-Lewis plays the starring role in the film which leads the race for honours with seven Globe nominations; among them is best drama, best director for Spielberg and acting honours for Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.
Tied for second place with five nominations are the Iran hostage-crisis thriller 'Argo' and Quentin Tarantino's slave-turned-bounty-hunter tale 'Django Unchained'.
Other best-drama nominees are shipwreck-novel adaptation 'Life Of Pi' and the Osama bin Laden manhunt thriller, 'Zero Dark Thirty', staring best dramatic actress nominee Jessica Chastain.
Nominated for best musical or comedy are: British retiree adventure 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'; Victor Hugo musical 'Les Miserables'; the first-love tale 'Moonrise Kingdom'; the romance 'Salmon Fishing In The Yemen'; and romance 'Silver Linings Playbook'.
