The award-winning star will fly into Dublin tomorrow on a one-night stopover for the European premiere of 'Lincoln'.

Day-Lewis will be accompanied by the film's director, Steven Spielberg, and co-star Sally Field for the screening, before hosting a banquet at the Burlington Hotel in aid of the Wicklow Hospice Foundation.

Instead of returning to his Roundwood home after the proceedings, a source confirmed to the Irish Independent that the 55-year-old will remain at the Burlington.

A group of 20th Century Fox producers and executives from the US have also booked rooms at the hotel.

They will jet out of Dublin Airport on Monday ahead of an appearance in Greece.
