Daniel Radcliffe reckons people are going to "stop thinking about Harry Potter pretty quickly" when they go and see his new thriller The Woman In Black.
The 22-year-old plays a widower and father-of-one in the new Hammer horror flick, his first major role since filming wrapped on the hugely popular boy wizard saga.
Daniel said of his new character: "It was a great part and very different. I think this is the first step in the transition of me starting to move on and do other things and it's a really, really good first step and I'm really proud."
He added: "People are going to stop thinking about Harry Potter pretty quickly when they see this film, even if they go in thinking, 'I want to see what Harry's up to now'."
Daniel, who has also tried his hand at musical theatre in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, said picking his first post-Potter role was easy.
"There were a couple of scripts I'd been reading around the time but this one (The Woman In Black) I read for the first time about four hours after we'd finished the last shot on Potter. It was just such a compelling story and was just so well written."
