Matt Damon has revealed his plans to take a hiatus from acting, as he moves from New York to Los Angeles.
The Oscar-winner and his family - wife Luciana and their four daughters - are going to make the big move together, and he told The Hollywood Reporter that he is "going to take a little time off" to support them through the transition.
The 42-year-old, who next stars in sci-fi film Elysium, also admitted he is still "desperate" to head behind the cameras and make his debut as a director, like best friend Ben Affleck, saying he hoped it would happen soon.
Matt had to shave his head and bulk up to play tattooed ex-convict Max DeCosta in the movie, which also stars Jodie Foster and William Fichtner and is directed by District 9's Neill Blomkamp.
" It was really hard because I love to eat and drink! It's very hard to motivate me to get in shape," he admitted to People.
He joked that his wife was quite impressed with his toned physique.
"I think she likes the variety. When I did The Informant, I put on 40 pounds and I was like, 'You kind of like this guy too?' I'm trying to talk her into [liking] that guy because that's the guy I'm most comfortable being," the actor added.
