Cruise wooing Nicholson for movie
Tom Cruise is apparently desperate to sign Jack Nicholson up for his new film.
The Hollywood actor is set to play a Secret Service agent assigned to protect an alcoholic former president in El Presidente, and thinks his A Few Good Men co-star Jack would be perfect for the movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom and director Doug Liman even visited Jack at his house to try and talk him into signing up - with Tom, 51, apparently suggesting he didn't want to do the film without him.
Insiders said 76-year-old Jack - who signs up for less films these days - has now agreed to read the script of the comedy.
El Presidente sees Tom's agent tasked with protecting America's worst former president, the part the star is courting Jack for. When a threat is made on the former leader's life, he and the agent go on the run together.
The film has been in development for some time and Tom and Jack were first linked to the roles three years ago.
