Tom Cruise could be teaming up again with Joseph Kosinski for racing movie Go Like Hell.
The duo, who worked together on Oblivion, are set to collaborate on the big-screen adaptation of AJ Baime's book, Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, And Their Battle For Speed And Glory At Le Mans, reported The Wrap.
Tom, who previously showed off his driving skills in 1990's Days Of Thunder, is tipped to play racing driver-turned-engineer Carroll Shelby.
"Cruise would not play Henry Ford II as reported by some but rather Carroll Shelby, the racing icon," tweeted The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit.
The 20th Century Fox film, which is set in the early 60s, would centre on the rivalry between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari with the Ford Motor Company falling behind in the sports car marketplace.
Carroll created a scheme with Henry and Lee Iacocca to reinvent Ford by entering the high-stakes world of European car racing.
Next up for Tom is the fifth instalment of Mission: Impossible, which will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie and Doug Liman's sci-fi adventure Edge Of Tomorrow with Emily Blunt and Jeremy Piven.
