Cox: Scream films like 'evolution'
Courteney Cox has admitted reminiscing on the set of Scream 4.
The former Friends star, who reprises her role as TV reporter Gale Weathers, met husband David Arquette while filming the original slasher flick in 1996. They tied the knot in 1999 and are parents to six-year-old daughter Coco.
"I can remember the day I met him like it was yesterday. Scream 1 was really an intense crush and all that stuff, Scream 2 we didn't get along so well, then Scream 3 we had just gotten married, and Scream 4 we have Coco, so it's just been an evolution of things that have happened to us," she told Entertainment Tonight.
Crediting director Wes Anderson as "really instrumental" in bringing them together, Courteney added that the story has evolved, so her character has given up work to marry Deputy Dewey (David) and write murder books.
"We all reunite at the beginning of the movie. She's written six Stab books and she has writer's block, and she's pretty bored, pretty miserable, pretty desperate, and all of a sudden some murders start happening and her life starts to look up. She likes a good murder," she said.
Wes said the reunion also had a special significance for him.
"It's really doubly lovely, because I had a little bit to do with them getting together. They got married, they've had a good marriage and they have a wonderful little child, and it's great icing on the cake," he added.
