Copley reduces 'Murdock' to tears
District 9 star Sharlto Copley has said he was chuffed to have brought The A-Team's former Murdock to tears with his updated version of the character.
The actor discussed said he was relieved that 80s star Dwight Schultz liked his interpretation.
"I got the part by editing some stuff together in a hotel room when I was busy doing the District 9 publicity tour and I really just brought my own improvisation style to the character," he explained.
"I showed it to Dwight and when he'd finished watching it he turned to me with tears in his eyes and said 'you are Murdock' and gave me a hug and that was the most important thing to me that I made him feel comfortable to pass the torch on, as it were."
Compared to shooting the Oscar-nominated alien-action flick which brought him to the world's attention, Sharlto said making The A-Team was a breeze.
"It was awesome, it was so much fun just seeing it all come together. It was a nice schedule and it wasn't as demanding as District 9 was for me," he told reporters.
He added: "I had a good time and it was the most fun character you can play. It's really just a lot of laughs."
