Steve Coogan has revealed he's enjoyed reuniting with Pete Baynham and Armando Iannucci for the upcoming Alan Partridge film.

The character, who has returned for new webseries Mid Morning Matters, is set for an outing on the big screen in 2013, with a screenplay penned by the writing trio.

"It's been great when Armando, Pete and I have been together. Everyone's laughing, everyone's doing Alan. Three Alans in a room - torture, really," he told Vanity Fair.

The film, which has been in the works for a while and hasn't found a studio or production company, is scheduled to start shooting this summer. TV presenter Alan, who was created by Steve, Armando, Stewart Lee and Richard Herring for the BBC Radio 4 programme On The Hour.

"There's quite a large event in a small town. And Alan is not the protagonist. He's... an unwilling participant," Steve added.

Steve revealed that he could be reuniting with Rob Brydon and director Michael Winterbottom for a sequel to The Trip, which is also in development.

"This time the duo would be retracing the steps of Shelley and Byron, with all the attendant pompousness and portent," he said.
