Cillian Murphy lands role on Johnny Depp flick Transcendence
Cillian Murphy has joined the cast of sci-fi adventure Transcendence, according to reports.
The Irish actor is set to play one of the three male leads in Wally Pfister's upcoming film, alongside Johnny Depp, reported LA Times' Latino Review.
The 36-year-old - who worked with cinematographer Wally on Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises and Inception - is the latest addition to the star-studded cast, which also includes Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany and Kate Mara.
Details about the plot are being kept secret but it is rumoured to be about a scientist whose brain gets uploaded into a super-computer.
Cillian will next star in BBC Two crime drama Peaky Blinders with Helen McCrory and Sam Neill.
