Christoph keeps a grip on Globe
Christoph Waltz intends to keep a tight grip on his Golden Globe.
After winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in Inglourious Basterds, the actor was keeping his eye on the prize and not letting the statuette out of his sight all evening.
"I'm going to keep it right here!" he excitedly explained on the red carpet at The Weinstein Company's after-party, whilst beaming and firmly clutching the award to his chest.
During his acceptance speech, Christoph said he was indebted to the film's director and writer Quentin Tarantino.
"He took my modest little world, my globe, and with the power of his talent and his words and his vision, he flung it into this orbit. A dizzying experience," he said.
Speaking at the party afterwards, his co-star BJ Novak said he was incredibly pleased that Christoph had bagged the prestigious prize.
"I couldn't be prouder of him. I sat across a table from him for two weeks straight watching what an amazing actor he was, telling all my friends back home 'you're not going to believe this actor'.
"Now for the whole world to get to see it, and for critics to honour, it validates everything," he added.
