Chastain takes on a royal role?
Jessica Chastain could soon be practising her British accent portraying Princess Diana on the big screen.
The Debt star is rumoured to be playing the late princess in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Caught In Flight, reported Thompson on Hollywood blog.
The film, written by Steven Jeffreys and already in pre-production, is said to be a "controversial take on her life", as it focuses on her affair with Dr Hasnat Khan, which lasted from 1995 until a few months before her death in 1997.
The script could apparently portray the Princess, the mother of Princes William and Harry, "as a damaged person who stalks the doctor after he ends the affair".
Shooting is set to begin in March 2012 in Pakistan, Angola, the South of France and Paris.
Two other rival biopics about Diana are reported to be in the works.
Charlize Theron and Ewan McGregor are rumoured to be in talks to appear in producer Stephen Evans' film, based on the biography by her bodyguard Ken Wharfe - Diana: Closely Guarded Secret.
Keira Knightley and Dame Helen Mirren (as the Queen Mother) are thought to be starring in another biopic by Pathe films.
