THE cast of the movie version of the classic Roald Dahl novel ‘Matilda’ have re-united for the first time in 17 years.
Mara Wilson, who played Matilda in the 1996 children’s movie, was re-united with her on-screen parents, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman.
Also pictured at the reunion were Pam Ferris who played the terrifying principal Ms Trunchbull, as well as Jacqueline Steiger who played Amanda Thripp, the girl thrown over the school fence by her pigtails.
The cast has had varying levels of auccess since the movie – Mara Wilson was one of the most famous child stars of the 1990s.
She played Nattie Hillard in Mrs. Doubtfire as well as Susan Walker in Miracle on 34th Street.
However she quit acting in 2000, claiming that she didn’t enjoy the monotony of re-shooting the same scene dozens of times until the director was happy.
