Brosnan gets Bonded - without Bond
Pierce Brosnan is set to star with his son in Bonded - a thriller which despite its title has nothing to do with 007.
The 57-year-old former James Bond and his 26-year-old son Sean Brosnan are to play cops, director Mo Ramchandani told movie blog TheWrap.com.
Mo wrote the Oliver Twist-esque thriller, based on true events that took place in El Monte, California, in the early 90s.
It centres on the story of a Mexican teenager called Jesus who, after the death of his mother, is sold by his father and smuggled into America, where he's forced to work as a bonded slave labourer in a Los Angeles sweatshop.
While trapped there, he befriends a young woman named Elena, but when she is taken by a sex trafficker, Jesus escapes and attempts to rescue her.
Mo grew up in London with Sean Brosnan and is in the process of casting the male lead.
He said: "I want to make movies that not only entertain people, but also empower, educate and inspire them."
Pierce's Irish DreamTime company is expected to executive produce the project, which is due to begin shooting in September.
