Brand takes on Rentaghost remake?
Russell Brand will be starring in the big-screen adaptation of Rentaghost, it has been reported.
Warner Bros has acquired the rights to the British TV show, and plan to turn it into a "Beetlejuice-style afterlife comedy".
The funnyman, who will also be executive producer, is tipped to play the recently deceased slacker Fred Mumford, who is determined to be more productive as a corpse than he was during his life, reported Deadline.
Fred tries to set himself up in a business with a couple of other ghosts, starting a temp agency renting out the ghouls and ghosts to the living, before plans go awry.
The original TV series, created by Bob Block, aired on BBC One for eight years until 1984.
