Brand: Drugs scenes not a problem

Russell Brand has insisted that he had no fears about returning to his old ways while playing a relapsed drug addict.

The actor played a former drug and sex addicted rock star in comedy Get Him To The Greek and the film sees his character relapse.

The star told movie blog aintitcool.com: "I didn't think I would relapse. It was interesting, actually. The props person who gave me pretend cocaine to take in one scene - which I don't think was in the movie - was himself twenty-one years clean."

He said: "I go, 'What is this?' It looked like cocaine, and I had to snort it right up me hooter. And he goes, 'This is organic matter.' That's something that you read on a Nestle label. What is organic matter?...

"So to answer your question... I'm in a daily programme of recovery and everything, so one day at a time I'm all right."

The 34-year-old comedian and actor - who is engaged to Katy Perry - admitted the film did make him think about his former problems.
