Booth romancing Romeo film role?
Douglas Booth could soon be trying to woo Hailee Steinfeld in Romeo & Juliet.
The up-and-coming British actor reportedly beat more than 300 contenders for the coveted part of the star-crossed lover in Carlo Carlei's big-screen adaptation of William Shakespeare's play, said Variety.
True Grit's Hailee is already signed as Juliet, with Holly Hunter as the Nurse, Gossip Girl heartthrob Ed Westwick as Tybalt and Let Me In's Kodi Smit-McPhee as Romeo's faithful cousin Benvolio.
Filming for Romeo & Juliet, written by Downton Abbey's Julian Fellowes, is expected to start later this summer in Italy.
Douglas, who won praise for his portrayal of Boy George in the BBC Two drama Worried About The Boy and has modelled for Burberry, will next appear in the romantic comedy LOL opposite Miley Cyrus.
He is also set to play Pip in a forthcoming TV version of Great Expectations.
