Blanchett reveals post-awards plans
Cate Blanchett has joked that she is planning to slob out now awards season is over.
The Australian star has picked up a host of accolades for her performance in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, including the Best Actress Oscar, but revealed to The Hollywood Reporter she is looking forward to a bit of time off the red carpet.
"I don't think I'm going to brush my hair or wear clean clothes or put deodorant on," she laughed.
"I think I'm going to go the full schlob."
Cate, 44, has also admitted that winning acting honours at other major awards shows didn't make the Academy Awards ceremony any easier.
"It was an intense, unbearable pressure which I'm so glad is over," she said after her win. "It has been every year."
Cate has been nominated for Oscars six times, and won the Best Supporting Actress gong in 2005 for The Aviator as well as this year's Best Actress trophy.
"Every year I watch this thing remotely and every year there are five, six, 10, 12 or 20 performances by women that I'm gobsmacked by and inspired by," she said.
"And it gets whittled down to five. To be in conversation with those women by proxy ... that's the privilege and the rest is just chocolate."
