Bill's laughter during Emily snog

Bill Nighy has admitted he couldn't stop laughing as he kissed Emily Blunt in Wild Target.

The 60-year-old plays a strait-laced hitman who falls for Emily's character's charms in the action comedy caper, but because of their history in BBC drama Gideon's Daughter, in which they starred as father and daughter, he found the situation quite funny.

"Ever since I've known her and played her dad, Emily's favourite joke is to feign nausea and gag 'on her own vomit' every time I so much as mention physical contact with the opposite sex in conversation - the idea that she might personally be romantically linked with me makes her physically distressed, so it made it very difficult to keep a straight face for both of us," he said.

Bill joked that his relationship with 27-year-old Emily needs some improvement.

"I've worked with Emily before and I know her very well. I know well enough for her to treat me with little or no respect," he quipped.
