Bill Murray is returning to the world of ghosts and ghouls in new animated movie B.O.O: Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations.

The Ghostbusters star has signed up to voice villainous ghost Addison Drake in the movie, DreamWorks Animation announced.

The supernatural comedy will centre around two apparitions who join the ghost world's leading counter-haunting unit.

Jennifer Coolidge and Octavia Spencer have also been cast, with Jennifer as a "transitions relations officer" and Octavia as Senior B.O.O. officer Captain Book.

Director Tony Leondis said: "Bill Murray is the perfect actor to bring this character to life - or should I say after-life? Along with Jennifer and Octavia, this is a dream cast. I can't imagine a team more capable of packing a funnier punch to this broadly comedic ghost story."

The newcomers will join Seth Rogen, Melissa McCarthy, Rashida Jones and Matt Bomer, who are already on board.

B.O.O: Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations will be r eleased by Twentieth Century Fox on June 5, 2015.
