Mark Wahlberg was "almost lost" during the filming of Lone Survivor, director Peter Berg has revealed.
The 2 Guns star, who plays former US Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell in the war film, had a close shave on set, although the filmmaker refused to go into further details, reported Variety.
"I did blow him up, by accident," Peter said. "That was close. We almost lost Mark, for real."
Mark admitted filming in the mountains was physically challenging, saying: "I remember the first time I walked up on the rocks, I'm like, 'Dude, where's the wires? Where's the green screen?'"
Peter was joined by stars Mark, Emile Hirsch and Taylor Kitsch for a screening of the film, followed by a Q&A session at the ArcLight Cinema in Los Angeles.
The film, adapted from Marcus' book of the same name, gives an account of SEAL Team 10's mission to capture or kill a Taliban leader during the war in Afghanistan. Marcus was the only survivor from the group, although they were all awarded the Navy Cross in 2006.
