Bell honoured to be Frozen princess
Kristen Bell has revealed it feels "special" to join the league of Disney heroines.
The Veronica Mars star lends her voice to Princess Anna in the 3D animated musical Frozen, which is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen. The movie has already snowballed its way to the top at the US box office, becoming the biggest Thanksgiving opening ever and the largest opening for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
"It's exciting to be inducted into what feels like this mini hall of fame, because I'll forever know that I was a part of something that I liked so much, growing up and that I still love today," she said.
The 33-year-old said the role has an extra significance, because she was pregnant with her daughter Lincoln while she was recording her vocals.
"Having a daughter and knowing she's going to see that, it's special and it feels really lucky. She definitely was part of this movie, and I'll tell her that one day," she added.
Kristen, who has starred in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Couples Retreat and Burlesque, revealed she relished the opportunity to dress down for her latest role.
"I actually really enjoyed being in the voiceover booth," she said.
"I did quite a bit of voiceover on Veronica Mars and did six years of Gossip Girl voiceover so I love coming to work in my jammies (pyjamas), sidle up to the microphone with a cup of coffee and get to it. It's a different type of creativity... but it's a lot of fun," she continued.
Jonathan Groff, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad also star in Frozen, which opens in UK cinemas on December 6.
