Bardem, Rourke for Potzdamer Platz
Javier Bardem, Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham are in talks to star in new crime thriller Potzdamer Platz.
The film, directed by Top Gun's Tony Scott, tells the story of two soldiers in a New Jersey-based crime family which is trying to expand internationally, Deadline Hollywood reports.
Scott is reportedly keen to persuade Gene Hackman to appear in the movie as well but the Royal Tenenbaums star, who has not acted since 2004, is currently enjoying writing books and has no plans to return to acting.
Scott and his Scott Free banner have been working on Potzdamer Platz since the script was acquired in 2000.
The film may be renamed as the title is taken from Germany's busy station and the movie is to be shot in Puerto Rico.
The script by Buddy Giovinazzo has been rewritten by the Sexy Beast team of David Scinto and Louis Mellis.
