Bill Bailey is to work with John Cleese on A Fish Called Wanda: The Musical.
Cleese revealed the actor, comedian and musician - currently filming new John Landis film Burke And Hare about the Edinburgh body snatchers with Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis and Isla Fisher - will write the music for the stage show.
Cleese told Chortle.co.uk: "Soon, we'll start to work on the songs for the show with Bill Bailey, who, among his many achievements, is an honorary member of the Society of Crematorium Organists. This musical is destined to be a hit amongst funeral directors."
He added: "It appears that my daughter, Camilla, is doing her best to outpace her dear old dad at every turn.
"We've just completed the book for the musical of A Fish Called Wanda and I'm pleased that Camilla hasn't completely stolen all of my dignity in writing so brilliantly. She's left me a few scraps to hang onto to keep me warm at night."
Cleese began work on the musical early last year, and it was expected to take three years before the production made it to the stage.
Cleese also has a part in Burke And Hare, which is currently being shot on location in Edinburgh and also stars Ronnie Corbett, Reece Shearsmith, Stephen Merchant, Tim Curry and Spaced stars Jessica Hynes and Michael Smiley.
The movie, about the 19th century grave robbers, who turned to murder when they can out of corpses to supply to medics, is due out later this year.
