Avatar up for screenplay award

James Cameron's sci-fi hit Avatar has been nominated for the Writers Guild Of America's best original screenplay award.
The movie starring Sigourney Weaver - which has taken more than a billion dollars at the worldwide box office so far - is up against The Hangover, The Hurt Locker, (500) Days Of Summer and A Serious Man.
Another sci-fi hit, Star Trek, has got the nod in the adapted screenplay category.
It faces competition from Up In The Air, Crazy Heart, Julie And Julia and Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire."
The guild presents its awards on February 20 in simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York.
