Atkins joins Woody Allen movie
Dame Eileen Atkins has joined the cast of Woody Allen's new film.
The writer and director has already begun filming on his latest project, a comedy starring Colin Firth and Emma Stone, on location in the South of France.
The veteran British actress, star of Cold Mountain and Cranford, has joined the cast along with Oscar nominees Marcia Gay Harden and Jacki Weaver.
American actor Hamish Linklater and British star Simon McBurney have also signed up.
As with all Woody Allen productions, the title and subject matter is currently unknown.
It is Woody's second time filming in France and his eighth film set in Europe.
He will reunite with the cinematographer, production designer and costume designer he worked with on some of his previous European productions.
Woody's latest movie, Blue Jasmine, is due out later this month. It stars Cate Blanchett as a woman suffering from depression after being conned by her husband, played by Alec Baldwin, who goes to stay with her sister (Sally Hawkins) in San Francisco.
