Anna Kendrick has told how she stirred up competition between her heartthrob co-stars George Clooney and Robert Pattinson.

The Golden Globe nominee, who stars with George in Up In The Air and Robert in the Twilight films, told Ellen DeGeneres she accidentally fuelled a friendly rivalry by giving George a GQ magazine which Robert had signed: "To George, best of luck, hang in there - Love Rob."

George responded with a signed Esquire magazine, which said: "Dear Rob, thanks for all the inspiration, I'm a huge fan - Love George, two-time Sexiest Man Alive."

Anna told talk show host Ellen that George teased her about Twilight.

"George gave me such a hard time about shooting Twilight. Whenever I came back, it was like, 'Oh sorry, this isn't the Twilight set, you're not working with Mr Handsome' - he called Rob Mr Handsome," she said.

:: Up In The Air is released on January 15.
