Anika 'thrilled' about Disney role
Anika Noni Rose has admitted she was so desperate to be in a Disney movie she wouldn't have minded being cast as a flea.
The actress voices the character of a princess called Tiana in Disney's latest animated adventure, The Princess And The Frog, and revealed it was a dream come true.
She said: "Since I was a little kid I wanted to work for Disney - and I didn't need to be the princess, I would have been a tick or a flea!"
The 37-year-old added she was "thrilled beyond words" to be in the film, and with the way it turned out.
"I had no doubt it would be something lovely and I was really looking forward to the return of hand-drawn animation, but it surprised me and it is even better than I imagined it to be," she said.
The movie features the voices of a host of stars, including Oprah Winfrey, John Goodman and Terrence Howard, and Anika said the people that cast the film did a "brilliant" job to gather "so many amazing voices".
