Andy and Naomie enjoy Rock And Roll
Andy Serkis and Naomie Harris have told how much they enjoyed making new indie film Sex And Drugs And Rock And Roll in comparison to appearing in Hollywood blockbusters.
The Lord Of The Rings star plays Ian Dury in the new biopic and the Pirates Of The Caribbean actress plays his on-off girlfriend Denise.
Andy, who recently revealed playing King Kong had damaged his joints, said: "Playing Ian has done terrible things to my joints, but I have to say - I love all the roles that I play, I love getting inside them, whether they be manifested as CG characters or on-screen live action characters like this."
He added: "But this was particularly joyful because for me it represents my take on life and I felt very close to his philosophy. He was great to play."
Naomie also said she really enjoyed being part of the cast, who were joined on set by Dury's family during the making of the film.
She said: "It was fabulous because it's much more intimate - it feels like much more of a family atmosphere.
"It feels like everybody can contribute rather than be a cog in a big wheel - you really feel like you are contributing, you can make a difference, your voice is heard, and that's really important.
"That's a real privilege ... I think you're more likely to get that with a small independent film than you are with a big budget movie."
