Allen shoots scenes with Bruni
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy can now add actress to her CV, after filming some of her scenes with Woody Allen.
Dressed in a white blouse and jeans, France's First Lady shot her scenes alongside Owen Wilson around the Pantheon in Paris for Woody's next movie, Midnight In Paris.
A source on the set told People.com that the former singer, who plays a museum director, was on set for nearly five hours and took part in many takes.
"They must have shot the same set-up, where she walks along holding a baguette in her hand going into a supermarket ... around 32 (times)," the source said. "Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes."
Woody proposed a small role to Carla in 2009, and later met her and her husband, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, at the Elysee Palace to discuss the cameo.
Midnight In Paris, also starring Marion Cotillard and Adrien Brody, is a 1920s Jazz-Age period costume piece told largely in flashbacks.
Sources said 42-year-old Carla is expected to do another half-day of shooting with Marion before joining her husband on holiday.
When she announced her acceptance of Woody's offer of a role, Carla said she was unsure of her acting skills. "I'm not at all an actress. Maybe I'll be absolutely terrible," she said.
However, she said she could not pass up the chance to play in a Woody Allen film.
"I'd like to - you know - when I'm a grandmother, to have done a Woody Allen film," said Carla, who has a son from a relationship before Mr Sarkozy. "I cannot in my life miss an opportunity like this."
