Ben Affleck has admitted directing and playing the lead in his new film The Town took its toll.
"I was stressed completely and I was on the verge of exhaustion all the time," the Hollywood actor confessed.
"But I was ably supported, the actors were incredible, the crew members did an extraordinary job and you stand on all these people's shoulders.
"It's not just like, 'Oh I'm the director and I make it and do it' - you have to have people who are really talented and I did in this case and I'm deeply grateful."
The Gone Baby Gone director said it might be a while before he works out what his next project will be.
"It's hard to say, obviously what I get offered, there are a lot of people in line ahead of me. Hopefully something good will fall off of someone's plate, like something that Ridley Scott decides not to do maybe!" he laughed.
"It's important to me that it has something to say, it connects with these thematic issues that are relevant to me."
He added: "You know, I feel really lucky just to keep working!"
:: The Town opens in cinemas on September 24.
